Our history
|
ITACA was founded in the spring of 1989 by three business partners, Moreno Allegrini,
Maria Cristina Ianda and Nello Cattalini.
The company has worked from the outset on software management systems for sports clubs.
In September 1989, ITACA performed the first installation of Gymgest® and in 1990 released
Version 2 of the software which was created using the latest computer programming
technology solutions.
In 1991 ITACA opened its technical call centre.
In 1993 Gymgest® Version 3 was released, which could be used online. At this stage
the most important Italian sports clubs demonstrated a real interest in the software
and benefited greatly from its use.
In 1994 Version 4 was released, which even today remains the most attractive and
complete software in the sports management sector. This version has many optional
modules and plug-ins.
In 1996 in-house production of magnetic card readers began.
In 1997 the radio frequency access control system proxy® was released. The new
reader permitted the simultaneous use of a magnetic card and radio frequency transponder.
This is yet another example of a technological innovation that ITACA brought to the market.
In 1999 ITACA released Ulisse®, software for the management of workout sessions,
something which had been continually requested by clients. Ulisse® was integrated
with Gymgest®.
In 2000 distribution of Gymgest® 5 began. This last version is the most
technologically advanced software in Europe for sports clubs and leisure centres.
In 2002 the integration between proxy® system and Ulisse® software was released.
In 2003 ITACA an agreement with VODAFONE® was established for the automatic
sending of SMS with Gymgest®.
In 2004/5 ITACA released the “CRM” module for Customer Relationship Management;
its principal goal is member loyalty management. In 2005 Gymgest® developed a
software module to manage the operation of showers and hairdryers.
In 2006/7 Itaca released some Internet modules such as 'E-Booking' and 'E-Commerce'
directly connected with Gymgest that allows to make some easy booking and shops for
the services of our customers.
In 2010 Itaca starts developind a new version of Gymgest based on .NET technologies
and advantages. The most advanced and innovative programming techniques are the core of Gymgest v6.

Gymgest -
Software system for the integrated management of sports, beauty or well-being clubs.

Gymgest® is composed by two parts: Software structure and Hardware structure.
The software structure controls the planning, management and monitoring of the
economic and organizational activities of companies that offer sports, beauty or
well-being services.
The hardware structure complements and completes the software
features above all in the control process of customer fruition and consumption
of services.

All these modules "turn at the same time" on the same personal computer
or the same server of LAN. The managerial one runs "in foreground",
engaging the monitor, the control one runs in "background", without to
engage the monitor. It engages, eventually, opening one window when verification an access.

Gymgest Main Module and Access Control
GYMGEST® main module
The program interacts with all the organizational, of economic management and
control problems of the sports, aesthetic and of well-being clubs. Itaca has
fifteen years of uninterrupted job of analysis and programming, based on the deep
acquaintances of the problems to manage. The continuous experiences made in
prestigious clubs where it has been settled, makes Gymgest® the best managerial
software in sporting clubs.
The program can be acquired also in configuration "net". This means that it
can be used at the same time from more workstations, to reception and an other
in office connects (one as an example to you).

Control Access module
Access control takes place in real time. Information about controlled elements
(such as people, vehicles) is loaded instantaneously from the archive and available
immediately on a PC. Customer access information is available and updated at all times.
The control approached for the company of sport services, aesthetic and of
well-being clubs must constitute a simple deterrent to avoid dispersions or
losses of economic type and burglars.
The level of deterrention is build by
the hardware structure installed (barriers and the readers) and by the
configuration of the software. Today finally it has been understood that
the monitoring of the accesses constitutes fundamental element for the control
of the loyalty of the member.
The control approached is predisposed for two types of customers: the member

CRM Optional module
The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software module is ‘the set
of techniques and instruments which allow a first-rate customer relationship
to be clearly defined and promoted’. Nowadays in IT, CRM is one of the
most advanced technological frontiers for business promotion and development.
In Gymgest® the CRM module manages and monitors the complete commercial
relationship with a member through phase checks that are carried out
during the member’s entire presence inside the centre. Management and
monitoring of this relationship is centred on the dynamic of customer
status, from arrival to registration, during frequency, after expiry and so on.
Customer status is defined by a series of specific terms, with a very
precise meaning, which aid staff members in sales, and in marketing
activities directed to different types of customers classified with a
certain status.

It begins with activities directed to ‘prospect’ status
which lead to ‘pif’ (paid in full) status or to ‘void’ status; from
‘retention’ (loyalty) activities with possibilities for upgrade,
integration and renewal, to recovering activities for ‘missing’ status.
All relationship marketing activities whether individual or collective
(such as trials, quotes, interviews, telemarketing, sms, email,
training schedules, tests etc.) carried out by staff to customers are
collected and organized in the database with the aim of making them
available to all staff members for future reference in order to optimize
the quality of the customer relationship.
The operating CRM rationalises and automates direct interaction with a
customer also through the daily organization of work supplying member
lists with predefined filters on which the adviser must intervene with
single or collective actions.
The analytical CRM allows customer information to be gathered, organised
and analysed with the aim of providing the manager with a continuous
support in the form of feedback – a return to a continuous cycle of
statistical data – to optimize and reorganise the production of services
and their respective marketing.

Optional module MONEY CARD®
Software module for bar and rest units inside the center. With the use of magnetic
readers or radio frequency, with keyboard and printing, they concur the planning,
the management and the control of the consumption to these points.
Optional module RECHARGEABLE
For the sale of the services and products with prepaid tickets.This one is
the most modern technique of sale of the services and the products.
The customer pours in advance payment a sum of money that will consume through
the presence to the several activities and the purchase of several the products
and services that you will offer.
Optional module CARD MANAGEMENT
For the management of the occasional frequent visitors. The module software
concurs the sale, the management and the control of the services to the occasional
frequent visitors and therefore does not make a subscriber to you.
Optional module FAMILIES & GROUP MANAGEMENT
For the management of the sale of the services to the familiar group or generic
groups of people. In the sale of the services to times it is decided to carry
out particular conditions to the familiar groups.
Optional module STAFF
For the management of the calculations of the money retribuition of the staff.
The main version of the program contains many procedures that are involved with the staff.
Optional module PARKING
For the management of the accesses to the parking. Lot often that the company

enrolled one.
Optional module TRASMISSIONS
For the management of the communication data transmission between more systems.

Gymgest® has a new module that allows to send SMS to the enrolled one of
the sport center. The addresses of the SMS and the relative number
of cellular are already stored you in Gymgest®.
Hardware and Accessories

Transponder
Instead of receiving a magnetic card, a customer is given
a new device technically called a transponder.
A transponder is made up of a core containing a microchip
and a tiny antenna capable of picking up radiofrequency signals
coming from another antenna.The transponder normally has a
‘shell’ which contains everything and which can be safely
kept in a pocket.The Proxy® Transponder is currently available
in two forms: pendant form (bracelet or key ring);
standard 1.3mm thickness ISO card.The format "chip"
is equipped of ring in steel by means of which it can be
inserted in a key holder or can be coupled to a bracelet
of comfortable use to the inside of the center.
The current ‘shell’ is in the form of a key ring ‘pendant’.
It is therefore convenient to insert into a bunch of keys
and keep at all times. Proxy® provides further confirmation
that Gymgest® goes beyond every other computer management
and access control system present in the word of sports facilities.

Cards
Standard magnetic ISO cards: in PVC, thickness 0.30 – 0.76mm,
laminated, plasticized, customized lithographic or silk-screen
printed; in cardboard, reinforced thickness 0.30mm.

Ulisse - Fitness activity tracking software
Ulisse® is a well designed, east-to-use software focusing on planning,
managining and controlling fitness activity. It is a modular and
completely open archive software.
User working with Ulisse, insert and use own theories and experience
making workouts.
It is just easy and fast. This just means the best productivity.
Configuration
Ulisse® is an affordable computer database of fitness
exercises that can be printed to your clients. It is great for strength
training, wellness programs, fitness programs of all levels, and post
rehabilitation.Workout templates are structured by categories and folders.
Complete explanations on how to perform each exercises.
Management
Every
plan or subplan can be divided into other sub-subplan and so on, as you want.
All workout are displayed in a tree view.You can copy the current day's
workout to multiple day's for easy planning; you can use your own template
workouts.
Control
Some properties of a workout is the expiry date or the
period of validity. Once that you added a personal profile, you may copy
one of your template and you start a workout or a plan with a validity time
interval.You can also controll users and the administrator can grant right to others users.
CRM - Gymgest
ULISSE works with GYMGEST: you have all informations about
clients personal data.Gymgest can import from Ulisse® some clients’ thought
registered in personal profile window.
Ulisse® at the University
The Istituto
Universitario di Scienze Motorie (IUSM) of Roma, use software Ulisse® in
pre and post-laurea courses. Now Ulisse® is used by all students of
personal-trainer specific course. The university chose our software for
its opened archives and easy-to-use methods: all the students can apply
their knows and experience working with Ulisse®.
Exercises lib
Base Program contains over 450 exercises consisting of free weight and fitness
center exercise machines. Also includes exercises for abdominal training and
cardiovascular workouts.
Ulisse has all exercises order by machine (upgrade with the last new sets of
machine), has a lots of free weight exercises and with some object such as balls, elastic…
Add your own pictures if you have a scanner and graphic editing capabilities.
Edit existing text, customize and store your own instructions.
Template workouts
You may add your own template workouts. A template is a reusable workout.
A template workout may indicate the main exercises and training; you can
copy and paste it into Fitness profiles.
You can organize and manage all your own template workout and classify them
into categories and subcategories; each category may has own properties.
You may add a folder for each category of workouts; inside it you may add
one or more similar workout.
Ulisse shows all information about started and expired workouts: workout name,
client name, validity period, ending date. You can assign new workouts before
than the old one expires: Ulisse shows also all the currently working workouts.
Medical pack
The package provides an integrated system that helps outpatient rehabilitation
clinics maximize reimbursement by connecting people and processes for
referral management, patient intake and scheduling, clinical documentation.
This package with the user session control allows:
· To doctors to manage all clicnic status of the client, his pathologies
and diseases.
· To fitness and reab trainers to view doctor analisys and to manage all
clients’ reab activity and workouts.
